its amazing how i can finally see how OA i am. i mean not that i haven't known what with people telling me such since time immemorial, but now, at age 23, working at teradyne was a chance to finally see how my OA tendencies manifest.

and this post would be one proof..hahaha! (p.s. if you can't make sense out of this, just don't try!)

it's my 2nd teradyne birthday and i just got a new set of twins- Getto and Motto!

Getto is an A520 Canon Powershot, which i finally got my hands on after a long time of drooling over and fantasizing! hello visual world, im coming atya!

Motto is my new L6 phone, to which i fell in love at first sight with. the VGA camera, MP3 player, and bluetooth are just the whada-surprise super bonus, because i actually went head over heels of the fact that he is as slim (well, almost..) as Mongol.

ehrr..don't get wrong ideas folks, i am not really the splurging type (well, not everyday, hahaha!). but do trust me when i say, i got them both on a really good deal (superduper good, in fact!)

so, here's Getto's first of his many exhibits! i'd like to present to you- my senseless attempt at deja vu. (*note- the first pictures of every set were taken exactly a year ago, see earlier blog for proof!).

what would birthdays be like without food?

there is a distinct feeling of belongingness in one's name. so that when such a plate exist in your cube, there is not ony a sense of ownership but an establishment of territory as well.

i share this territory with a dear friend, my constant companion and confidante. it's amazing what our daily conversations and analyzations could do. she is one of the gifts that i could describe as timely, surprising and beautifully intelligent.

and alongside her, is one crazy guy, who always make us crack with the faces he make of himself, and fills us with interesting know-hows, be it intellectual, emotional or moral.

the facial transformation is perhaps his best asset.

he took over my place in this cube. this is my first, where i share with a mandarin speaker who calls me "ka live-in"...makes sense...posing with the crazy guy is a techy agent who always comes up to me to share a joke or two. they actually make a good tandem. trust me, no dull moment with any of these two.

its amazing how he can trigger the vampire in me?

i noticed the crazy guy likes to pose (hmmm...taking over my throne ey?)

she is one of the reasons why i am here in teradyne. naudlot-na-sister-in-law, is what we jokingly term each other. nevertheless, naudlot or not, she is a very close friend to my family especially to my older sis. she is an Ate to me most of the time, and i always am a recipient of her pampering, be it with life strategies, food or laughters.

never too cold for ice cream in the middle of the night to celebrate an anniversary.

i envy this koala. been to the aussie, now here in cebu...

now, there's something very refreshing about my desktop background. aside from the green environment, it also remind me of the fun i have with my girls who are in the picture with me. and they think my butt looks big here...hehehe...the pringles? i get cravings like this once in a while...

Bantayan Island

we left at 5am on Sunday.

three uncomfortable hours of bus ride later, we finally arrived at the tip of north cebu.

the fastcraft would transport us from hagnaya to the island of bantayan.

feeling close tong isang to, nagpose pa talaga!

the labangon girls..poised, despite of being tired.

we had the resort van fetch us from the port and we got a taste of an autistic driver..or perhaps, he just doesn't understand what hello! means.

i guess, it was love at first sight for all of us, the moment we saw the resort. we were practically scrambling to take a shower so we can take a dip in the pool.

vanchy and i were quick at it.

darn, told ya im too lazy for captions today.

but, we all agreed that the place was truly beautiful.

the cottages, the sand, the wind...ahhh!

although the tide wasn't very cooperative, it was a beautiful day to take pictures in the sea. who can ever tell that a storm just passed two days before?

we were pretty hungry after our first hour in the pool, so we decided to order lunch.

and though we almost lost our mind waiting for the food to be served, the wait was all worth it.. perhaps, we had one of our most delicious experience of lunch that day. the buko shake...ahhh! the best!

while the guys later got hooked with billiards and manny pacquiao's game, vanchy and i sneaked out for some bonding moments with the camera.

and we were not frustrated with the scenes we caught.

the seabreeze was tempting me to succumb to slumberland.

but i couldn't afford to just sleep this day off.

upon seeing this scene in the net, i've vowed to have my picture taken here if i ever set foot on the place. and i got just what i wished!

we rented two cottages. inside this native ala-kubo room is a homey ala-pension house stuffs. while the outside is a gorgeous depiction of life in the beach where you can watch the sea from the balcony in the front.

much to our surprise, they have a TV room where you can watch movies of your choice for free. and we suddenly found ourselves in a dilemma of whose choice of movie we should watch among the library of DVD collections stacked in the cabinet just behind me in this room. i was frustrated that shrek 2 won because i badly wanted to watch forrest gump. i ended up watching the rest of manny pacquiao's losing match with morales.

we ordered dinner at 4pm and had it served by 7pm. the boys continued the movie galore that night while the girls and i treated ourselves to videoke. that night, in between my turns to the microphone, i finally learned how to hit a cueball with the taco! hahaha!

i managed to get myself drunked by feasting on the white wine jim brought as a birthday gift for sheng.

the rest of the girls were first to call it a night. in my tipsy mood, i sung all regine songs i managed to find while waiting for the boys to finish their movie.

we were almost tempted to stay up all night and hang out at the isolated bar.

but i was too tipsy to stay up. finally the night was up.

the cottage looked beautiful during the day, and even gorgeous in the evening.

we hit the pool early the following day. lovelyn and beige learned how to dive that day, while sheng learned to paddle her way through the water whilst in a salbabida(how do you translate this to english?)

we were very willing to extend our stay.

but we have real lives to face to.

and i suddenly found myself falling in love with beaches..panglao or boracay next perhaps?

Another night out

Sheng turned 23.

We had to celebrate with her. So we went to the moon and found ourselves in an island the day after.

we were supposed to leave that night.

and...well, after so much discussions on what might have been, and jim's purchase of the sleeping bag for the cancelled trip, we found ourselves reconsidering.

we cancelled the videoke.

and uncancelled the trip.

good thing i brought clothes with me...

and, when insomnia attacked, i basically watched the rest of the troop sleep through the dawn.

sheng found me 2hours later, where she unloaded guy stuffs...and we had the honor to wake everyone else up at 4am...

and the saga continues...

i finally introduced them to lapu-lapu, the island where i currently reside.

it was a hot day, the seas nearby announcing its presence with the temperature. sheng and vanchy finally got their first ride on a ferry.

we stopped by the park near the Birhen sa Regla church to pose for documentation.

later, i toured them around the MEPZ2 compound, where Teradyne is located. i paused by the office to hand them the chocolate kisses that has been sitting in my pedestal for a decade.

i later caught the two girls making themselves comfortable in the tractor that has been sitting in front of our building for a century.

marina mall tour and mctan grill dinner later, we found ourselves heeding the music craving. hmm..jimmy, hihirit pa o...silip ka na lang para makuha sa picture...

ayan, apil na jud si jimmy <jimmy says: J ra oi!>

o, bajong! tarungag pose kay matabunan imong pearly white teeth!

later, i found myself on a solo vodka spree...nalobat na sila tanan...

our beautiful visitor came by the next morning. if i am to bear a daughter, she should really look as pretty as Chantel here.

therefore, i have to look for an american with a german-irish descent for a husband...hmmm...not bad for a long term-goal eh?

MSU escapade

our lives have definitely turned out so differently, what with each other's presence. most weekends i find myself in their company, reminiscing, laughing, dreaming, sharing secrets, unloading downies, expressing anger and pains...i know, looking back to this point of my life, years from now, would surely put a smile on my face...
let our poses do the talking and hopefully, they will put smiles on yours too...

Door 1, Abella Apartment, Labangon, Cebu City. this is where all the escapades begin. where the blueprint of action is laid out, and anticipated.

it started with movie-going, mall-hang outs, food trip and tambay sa room. until reminiscing was too compelling to be resisted. and what became a frustrated visit on our University's foundation day, became a planned psych department foundation day attack on, no less than the valentine's day...

sadly, there were instances of doubts as the target date drew nearer...break-up stories, family affairs, and all other ek-ek.

a week before the supposedly-cancelled trip, sheng started bringing up the memories of the golf course, MSU peanuts and pater.

and the trip was cancelled no more...

as the ship docks on CDO, the thrill becomes too real to handle that Lovelyn woke up at 4am...

another land trip found us singing Usher's "Burn" on the bus en route to Iligan. basta bombo, radyo!

hearing the Maranao accent in Iligan terminal, got us hooked up with the excitement, that, sheng, vanchy and i decided to take the front seat together on the jeepney. it could be the most unforgettable of all the uncomfortable rides on the way to MSU, but we were not to miss the road views we once repeatedly travelled, and now we had to savor.

lovelyn, with her gigantic fans were to join us later.

fate is a tease.

tatin and vybouy, were one of the first recognizable faces we came across as soon as we set foot on MSU ground.

i found myself a few minutes later to the home where a lot of memories could play. but that day, i did not push the play button. i only had a few hours and i was not to spoil it with my emotional ek-ek. i was determined to look back to my glorious MSU days with happy nostalgia.

sessions of make-up and sexy get-up later, party lights are to host our venture for memories.

MK was the first familar face who greeted us. which was quite comforting with all the strange stares thrown by the psych majors with our entrance (could i say, a grand one at that? hahaha!). it was like, "okay, so the president knows them, they are no aliens afterall.."

Jaynur and Ed Ryan were our handsome table escorts(meron na palang ganito?). Ed Ryan became busy texting all four of us that night. said the speakers were too noisy for us to be able to talk...great reason huh? he was an amusing textmate though, which he was even till we were back in cebu until recently...

we all agreed that this night was by far too glamorous than the psych nights of our time. and of course, we had to point out that our class was a bunch of kuripot. (laughters here)

but then again, i was to find out the next day why the place was heavily decorated- a wedding occurred hours before and the party was lucky enough to enjoy its good left-over.

no, i cannot deny that i had a good time. and yes, this is my best shot for the night! hahaha!!!

the next day, Valentine's day, was a rush of activities. What we did that day were things I have missed back then, what with me preoccopied with the lover's thing.

first stop was to heed our ever longing for pater. we attacked the CSSH canteen and roared noise while we laughed ourselves off while mentioning memories. of course, the crowd has to pose for more proof and effect.

but we did not expect how overwhelmed we felt when the bill was laid. or maybe, we've been spending too much in cebu we forgot how far simple MSU meals are. we(the visiting four) paid 50 bucks and fed this crowd. yes ladies and gentlemen, we got our fill.

one thing i learned in this gimmick, (aside from the re-realization how cheap things are in MSU) is the essence of non-sense moments passing by. this day, we stumbled upon a lot of people we were not that close way back, but had the chance to know in some occassions. they are just familiar faces, but they were a picture of familiarity that makes the homey feeling dawn in. if i was shouting "I am in MSU!" the previous day, that day, my heart was singing the meaning of the words.

seeing the yfc's i continually snobbed in favor of love life, makes me wanna go back in time and reverse all that. despite my absence in most of their activities, they never fail to make me feel at home in their presence and they always provide me the company that i need when i call for it. come to think of it, i actually felt like a princess and i did not realize it till i saw the way their eyes glimmer how they called me Ate Jewit upon seeing me that day!

that day, i had to make it up to them, for all the time i preferred someone else's attention over their's just because what they had was just pure friendship. what i missed to point out though i already was aware, was that sincere friendship lasts far longer than romance.

now, it is very easy for me to be convicted, what am i without my friends? as FPJ (may he rest in peace) quoted to his wife, ang aking mga kaibigan ang aking kayamanan (my friends are my treasure)

so, on a lighter note (or is it?) when everyone else had to disperse because of class schedules, we decided to pay a visit to the office of the department where we crossed each other's path.

nothing changed much except the chair and table positions, also with the faces that visit the vicinity. we had to pose at the couch were we usually hung out when we got tired of running around frantically to catch instructor's signatures on proposals. where once were tired, haggard, dirty faces are now replaced with

hayyy!!!the confidence in posing is impeccable..wahehehe..

next stop, was the psych lab where we stuffed our brains with those mind boggling theories in trying to understand human behavior. here, we found pong holding a class, and much to our excitement, we had the chance to invade the guidance office!

the power puff memories pour in here. for this is where their countless sight-seeing and guy hunting occurred afterall. couldn't quite relate but this was one part of psych history we can never deny.

the next moment is perhaps one of the best event in this tirade- kantahan galore with the CSSH band in Engler. now why was this group not founded during our time?! imagine how much fun we couldv'e put into that rigid college life of ours had it been existing!

vanessa and sheng treated the microphone here. and i have to realize that this is just the start of the many-cravings-for -videoke later...i have to say though, they deserve a hand for the passionate performance!

5th Street is a different world now. and this is where lunch occurred where the visiting four ordered the very MSU-an food and the others were trying the very un MSU-an dishes. hahaha! mmm...beef randang will remain to be one of my favorite food in the world. and i surely miss sir boy's magic in coming up with this delicacy. he can cast a spell on any meat he turns into randang, chicken, beef, pork...ahhh...sarap! too bad, this was not part of the glory i was to taste again...

back at the college lobby, the area was bustling with people and activities. that afternoon, the sociology department was blessed with our no-nonsense buying of their valentines stuffs. i could say, we were a favorite crowd that day in this part of the campus.

vybouy and tatin caught up with me and i had to excuse myself from the troop. Letly (im unsure of the spelling), tatin's gf, would later tell me that she bumped onto the girl (ex man's).

as if by instinct, kuya tintan passed by on his way to class where vybouy and i stood by. i had to have him stranded with us. he had to text his instructor that he was not showing up in class (kahawod bai) but things just got better,when the instructor replied with a no-class announcement.

a few minutes later, we found ourselves in what used to be MSU Ayala, now, Marawi Resort Hotel. i can't believe i actually engaged my feet the walk churva. uhm, did i just have a dose of a walk-to-remember, or should i say, a hike-to-remember? heck, reality check, i was in MSU afterall.

anyhow, all the hiking was not spent in vain as kuya tintan treated us to calamares and pancit canton...ahhhh!!!sarap! why haven't i discovered this stomache-filling, heaven-to-the-taste-buds part of MSU when i was still living here? well, even if i could take the strenous walking, my pocket can't afford the bill. now how come, for crying out loud, kuya tintan chose this place to treat us? the heavens were good to me that day huh...kuya tintan rarely treats no one..

on the way back to civilization, (away from ayala, i mean), i stumbled upon the Rostrum folks and got introduced. patrick popped a silly (or at least i think so) question, "gikan kag japan?" did i look in any way like i just came from japan?

linsu jamming later and dinner with claire..chit-chat with sanjeeve about fairy tales coming to an end. tatin, was with me all the while, i had to shoo him away to get his gf a valentine company for the rest of the night while curfew was not strict.

had i taken tatin's offer to go with them to the concert, i might have found myself sitting next to my tragedy. i said the heavens were good to me right? well, the power was not. right in the middle of humming "weak", brownout cut me off. good(or is it?). someone somewhere doesn't want me to claim the adjective.

back at the dorm, i had the chance to bond with ching's classmates in highschool, who were of course, my kabs.

chit-chat, chit-chat..blahblah..this turned out to be a good day..where fun, music and true friendship in varying situations prevailed.

the next day we had to compress everything as we were to leave for cdo in the afternoon.

first stop - CSSH lobby..gotta pose here as we might never get to do this again (together, that is)

the next scenes are to allow the film rolling.

it was a great day for picture-taking..hmm..the heavens are good again that day.

the clouds covered the sleeping lady though. but the wind was music to my hair.

jong-jong, all throughout our stay has never left our side. he's grown his hair and grown more charming too. his company im sure, had girls wishing they were in our place..nyehahaha!!

this picture tells a story- a tale of transformation. a depiction of our falling-star-wish-coming-true slowly unfolding in front of our eyes. that is why we dared to dream, believed and survived..nyehahaha!!!

after a nerve-wracking-false-identity-encounter with pongets, jaynur walked me to MTM so i can meet tami and ruvi...and here was my another chance to catch a glimpse of the home where the memories could play but i didn't, couldn't. not with all the fun im havin, no way.

this was the family that i've known for four years. close to my own, as these brothers are dear to me inspite and despite of the tragedy.

here is another transformation i had to note. badat? hinhin na? he was perhaps the greatest tease among them all, and i was surprised with his newfound timidity! he won't even look at me straight in the eye! hahaha! he is growing to claim his genes..and i wonder how his story would turn out. BaJan, a treat for you girl, sorry malayo ang age gap..nyehahaha!!

how my visit that day ended in tears was not expected. my goodbye was cheerful yet when ruvie started crying, my tears just spilled out. and pretty soon, vybouy, ruvie and i were in tears. tami, took abode in the kitchen during the crying moment, could it be, he was holding back the tears? i teased him..nyehahaha..i'm gonna miss these people..sniff..sniff...

it was time to go...but we had to take one last attempt to be part of the college festivities. when practical sense nudged me, i took the first move to bid everyone goodbye and bought for myself MSU peanuts worth 40 bucks which was to last only for days.

the heavens were quite generous this day too...the fog, which is one of the most vivid memory any MSUan could have, showed up. We had to capture this God-given opportunity.

i broke my sandal but who would mind when you got the best of your visit in just two days and two nights?

the heavens must have thought we had too much fun and glee to just have everything fall into their perfect place. something had to go wrong somewhere...

and here is where it happened:

but no! we are not to be cheated and deceived that everything was already spoiled.

and with that attitude in hand, heavens were again on our side as vanchy's highschool classmate adopted us. but the evening was not to end in vain.

it wasn't a good night, but it wasn't that bad either.

where the night ended on a not so good note, we had to start the day right. and what better way to do it than posing for the camera in our fresh-from-the-bed figure.

i would like to think that we brewed up a storm in ketkai and gaisano. not because i ran out of decent outfits that i had to wear a tube which was a candidate for the psych night outfit. and not because i wore the ala-joss stone-net outfit inside the store that an agent from a bring-home-sauna-costing-thousands store would deal us an offer, asking if i came from the states...(laughters here)...

it was one trip too fulfilling to forget.
